Hello,
I cannot find employment, I was hired but it was taking a toll on my school schedule so quit, I was not able to save any money and right now don't really have any,
My GC 5 yrs eligibility won't be until next year but I wanted to file as soon as possible, right now though I don't have the fee and thinking of using fee waiver.
I wonder if this will be a bad idea because it might be viewed as public charge?

Employment is not a requirement for getting citizenship. Don't know if you would get the fee waiver but you have until next year though to save $680 (hopefully the fees stay the same) and then apply.

You might be asked how you've supported yourself, so if you can prove that, then you won't have a problem. You can also try for a waiver. It's not a risk.
