  • N 400 long wait , is this normal?

Its been 9 months since my interview and no word from USCISin Baltimore.I have asked froe a service request 3 times.Still nothing.
I took an info pass and was told the officer still worked there and will review the case.Wha can I do to get a decision?
My officer was very abrasive , ypung guy, who was apparently new.The info pass appt was not very helpful.

You can schedule an infopass and tell them that you will file a writ of mandamus to force them to a decision since it is has been more than 120 days since the interview.

Another route might be to contact the office of the congressman/representative of your district and ask for their help.

      Hi Ansah,
I understand how frustrated you are but, first you need to write a nice and kind reminder to the same officer, keep a copy for yourself and make copies of all the info passes that you made. Mail your letter and make sure you get signature of the person who received it.

Since you've been waiting for 9 months, then give the officer/USCIS 3 weeks to respond, if you did not hear anything from them after 3 weeks then you need to go to your congressman's office, if the office is very far or you are busy then check their website they might have an option to send your documents via fax.

The second package will be to write a letter to your congressman regarding the whole experience from the day you were interviewed include copies of your info passes, the letter you mailed to IO/USCIS and dates of calls if any with feedback you received. Once you do that then you will only have to follow up with the office of congressman for updates.

Ansah, I forgot to ask you after you finished your interview what did the officer told you exactly? and did you have any issues that maybe raised red flags?, anyway wish you all the best and if you did nothing wrong then don't worry I hope you gonna hear from them soon.

      Regards,

I am in the same situation
What I did was to get info pass and ask to a talk to a supervisor ( it your right to do so )
        Then expose your problem .
Mine was and still is fingerprint not release by FBI according to the usics supervisor .
        Good luck !
