2 and 1/2 years in U.S continuous or not ?

I have a Green Card dated 12/21/2010 and i have to stay 2 years and a half to be a citizenship through at least 5 years, i already stayed in the first year from 12/21/2010 till 1/1/2011 just 10 days, in the second year i stayed from 7/23/2011 till 8/29/2011 about 38 days, Are these days will count? then i came to stay from 6/12/2012 till now, So my inquiry is Should i stay for 2 and 1/2 years in U.S continuously with out any break till i complete the 5 years on 12/21/2015 to be in the safe side when i apply for the naturalization or Could i take breaks small ones 3 or 4 weeks outside U.S through the same period?
