I140 Filing Date - Feb 22nd 2006
I140 approval Date - May 18th 2006
I485 Filing Date - Aug 7th 2007
I485 Approval Date - June 10th 2008
Changed Employer - June 2nd 2008 on H1B (I485 pending more than 180 days)
I wanted to file AC21 within 30 days of my starting employment with my new employer which in my case before the end of June 2008. Before I could apply AC21, I got GreenCard approval on June 10th 2008 just after 8 days of joining new employer on H1B. So I did not file AC21 with USCIS. Now I have completed 5 years on GreenCard and I'm eligible to apply for US Citizenship (90 day early).
I did not work for sponsoring employer after getting GC. In fact I left sponsoring employer before getting GreenCard. But I worked for new employer for about 18 months.
I read somewhere that AC21 is automatic the moment we change employer with 140 approved and 485 pending more than 180 days. Is this correct?
In the Naturalization Interview (N400), if the Immigration Officer asks me how long did I work for the GC Sponsoring employer, What should I say?
Any suggestion is highly appreciated.
