  • Did not realize I had to say anything about traffic violations. Help?

So I just sent my N-400 yesterday and I answered "No" in part 10 - question 16 ("Have you ever been arrested, cited or detained by any law enforcement) for any reason?")

I now realize that traffic tickets are citations (duh!)

How can I rectify this? I don't have any tickets in the last 5 years though. I only have a couple of speeding tickets in my country from 2005-2007.

In the US I only got one ticket around the year 2000 (35 on a 25 mph zone).

I never had a DUI, tickets > US$500 or anything.

    Thanks!

You don't have to mention those minor traffic tickets.

    Therefore, relax.

Thanks. It's amazing how disputed this topic is when you search on the internet.

I'm okay than with having said "No" to that even if I don't have to list the citations?

        Yes, it is OK.

I have personally asked the officer who interviews citizenship applicants.
