Getting ready for the citizenship

Hi i wonder if someone can help me. We move to USA back in 2006 and as a family , we are green card holders. We decided to apply for a citizenship and we are confused , try to contact with uscis but they don't even answer my question. I was looking for someone been here done that before.
So how should we apply ? Me and my wife apply first than right after we have ours , kids will automatically became a citizen ?

Or do we have to apply altogether and pay $680 for all of us ? My kids are not over 18 years old and really need advice here

If your kids are 18 or over when you become naturalized, they have to apply on their own after having Green Cards for 4 years and 9 months, unless they have been outside of U.S. long enogh to lose thier accumulated eligibility time.

So, if your kids will be under 18 when you become citizens, and they live with you and have green cards, they will automatically derive citizenship and you can apply for their passports and/or certificates of citizenship (N600) with your naturalization certificates.
