  • Pls Help...

    Hi,

This is Andrew, I'm from Taiwan but currently lives in LA.

I'm here in LA under VWP.
I entered without a problem until last time, the end of Oct..
CBP kept me 3 hours at the airport & eventually they let me in but with an oral warning, if I come back next time without a proper visa, either getting deported or I may face a permanent ban.

I've known my girlfriend here locally when I used to work here (I had an L-1 visa), because of some reasons I quit the job & went back to Taiwan, found another job & they'd like me to join some sales calls in LA so here I am.
I talked to my girlfriend about this but she told me she hasn't got legally divorced..

    So, I'd like to know:
    1. It takes at least 6 months in California to get divorced, correct?
Is there any way to expedite that procedure?
    2. Can I stay til she got divorced & then get married? (That'll be illegally stay for sure)
    3. She told me the marriage was with a non-citizen, will our application on applying K visa be affected?
Or even getting married would be difficult??

Thank you for all in advance!

Your gal can get an "immediate" divorce in Nevada if she meets the 6-weeks residency requirement.
