applied I-130 2.5 months ago.no reply whatsoever ...

hello.
i am an american citizen living abroad.
applied I-130 for my son to acquire the american passport.(applied the i130 because I haven't spent the 5 year stay in usa )
I sent my documents end of April ..no reply at all till now...is that normal...??
what do I expect ?
is it because am living abroad things might not go well?
I have my brother's address in usa on the application + my address abroad...
I am worried really ...
any help is appreciated

Did you include form G-1145 for a text and/or email notification to you?

I sent money order.
I didn't send G-1145 ..I didn't know about it...I thought they will send a notice with a case number this way I can follow up online ..just like the N-400 process..
I sent only the stuff they wanted written in the instructions of the I-130

The hardcopy receipts normally show up in 2-4 weeks after you submitted. Find your money order receipt and try to get issuer to track when it was cashed. If you can get a copy of the cashed money order, the back of it should have your USCIS receipt number printed.

ray B thx..will try that...also am thinking of calling the uscis number for customer service ,I hope they can help over the phone...
