I am a green card holder (married to an American citizen for more that 27 years) and I meet the continuous residence and physical presence criteria. We have two sons both American citizens, permanent US residents. We have a home in the States for more than 7 years (it belongs to my husband). We never fail to file taxes. We have a joint back account. But my problem is that my husband has a job contract abroad for 2-3 more years. In N-400 I have to and I intent to tell the truth for my husband residence and work. I aslo have many trips abroad in order to be with my husband. Do you think that this will be an issue on my interview? Is something that I can do?

if you have had the green card for 27yrs and have been more than 50% of the last 5yrs in the US, it won't matter where your husband is. in fact, i don't think it matters even if you were to apply after 3 yrs based on marriage to US citizen. I can't recall anywhere in the forms, any requirements for the applicant's husband.

Thank you for your answer Allopez.
I became a LPR on January 2009. During the last 5 years I have multiple trips abroad. One of them is 510 days (8/18/2011-1/10/2013) and I have a re-entry permit for this. Since then I have one trip in 2013 for 74 days, one in 2014 for 166 days and 2 in 2015 for 82 and 52 days. Total days abroad 1054. My most recent arrival is on 8/20/2015. What do you think? Do I have any possibility to get the citizenship? After my husband's job contract ends, we plan to return permanently in the States to be with our sons.
Another question please. As I am going to file as US citizen spouse on 3 years term, do I have to apply information for my employment history and my trips for 5 years, or for the last 3 years?

It seems like the math is in your favor. You need to meet two requirements:
1- Continuous Residence: 3 years as a Permanent Resident without leaving the US for trips of 6 months or longer.Your 510 days trip disrupted your Continuous Residence (regardless of re-entry permit which only preserves your GC). However, since it was less than 2yrs, you can count 364 days prior to your return toward meeting your continuous residence requirement. That means your continuous residence starts on 1/11/2012 - which means you are good here - since its been more than 3yrs
2- Physical Presence: 18 months out of the last 3 yrs. if we count from 10/27/2012 to today, you've been in the US about 21 months (pls verify this with your exact dates) - so, (barely) good here too.

In short, while you travel a lot, you spent more than 50% of the last 3yrs here, so you can apply now. btw, if you use http://immig.us to easily fill up the forms, I can share a $25 coupon: ZwU3QEDZ

As for the employment/travel info, they require 5 yr history for all. Just enter the required info.
        I hope this helps.
