  • citizenship status

My Mom & Dad (Indians) were in USA from 1990-1994.I was born in Iowa, United States of America in the May 1994. Six months later we moved back to India & since then I've been residing in India.
I'm having the US birth certificate & SSN.
I'm having an Indian passport now since I've been in India since 21 years. Now I'm about to complete my bachelors in engineering and I want to apply to US universities for further studies (MS) . So while filling up the forms of universities they are asking me about my citizenship status and hence i`m confused as to what should I mention there.
Am I still considered as a US citizen since i was born on US soil ?
What should I mention about my citizenship status in college admission forms?
    Plz clear my queries
    Thankyou !

Yes, as per my understanding. You are still considered as a US Citizen. But before you come to USA, You have to apply for US Passport and surrender your Indian passport. You can't have both countries passport.
This is not a legal advice. Use at your own risk.
