My parents both became citizens in 2001.
My green card expired a few months after.
I wanted to get a passport and filed in Aug,05.
3 months after, I received a letter stating " we transferred your N600 APPLICATION FOR A CERTIFICATE OF CITIZENSHIP to an office in California for processing." 3 Months have passed again and I recently got a letter stating, " On January 25, 2006, we transferred your N600 APPLICATION FOR A CERTIFICATE OF CITIZENSHIP to an office in NEW YORK, NY for processing. Our office in NEW YORK, NY will send you a written decision as soon as processing is complete. You should receive a notice informing you that your case has been transferred to a local office. Please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283 to receive information about local office processing times."
I originally filed in NY to have my app transfered to CA then back to NY? When I spoke to a rep at the # provided she said she'll put in an inquiry, but didnt provide a solid answer. Doesn't make sense. Please advise.
