n400 application time

Hello all,

I am not so good with immigration stuff, as my parents usually deal with it. So please bear with me, if my question sounds ignorant. Anyways...

I am trying to find out about how long it takes for n400/citizenship to finish? I believe my receipt/application date was Dec. 15th 2005. I am a bit worried because I haven't been called in for any process (such as finger printing, civil test, etc...) yet. BTW, I am in Maryland.

Let me ask a better question...

Does the uscis website give you enough granular updates to show the finger printing appointments, etc...?

So far, I have only seen a very general statement that it takes between 360-390 days to process the application.

NO to your first question..

The typical processing time varies for each center. Typical for CSC (California Service Center) for most offices is anywhere from 8 months - 1.25 years..(assuming you don't get stuck in name check - which has seen processing time for those folks
prolonged up to as long as 3-4-5 years and still pending application status..)..so there you go..

You cannot get very detailed information on your case.

I looked up on uscis site for processing times for district office of Baltimore, MD. I am not sure which city you are in but for Baltimore they are processing N400 received by their office on Jan17, 2005. You can find this information at
