    Hi,
I am eligible to apply for US citizenship and have all the paperwork ready. But I have to go to India in December and I have already got my tickets. I worry that based on the current processing time for the Boston Service center, my oath ceremony/approval will come around Early Dec or even later. Even if it is early Dec, does it give me enough time to get the new US passport, renounce my Indian passport and get a visa for India. What happens if I start the process and it is mid way before December. Can I still travel in December?

Or should I just wait till my trip in Dec and then apply in January?

Any insight would be much appreciated.

You can't predict timeframes, especially if travel expenses are involved. Wait until you return from India, then apply for Naturalization.
