  • N400 biometrics to interview time

    Greetings,

My wife and I applied for citizenship on 3/28/2016 (priority date). We had the biometrics done on 4/26. I read somewhere that the online status of the case usually changes to 'in-line for interview' in a week. However, for both my wife and I the case status still shows as 'Case was Received' ... Is this normal? How long does it take between biometrics and interview letter (or for the online status to change to inline for interview)? Our ASC is Seattle.

    Thanks

I did my biometrics on 2/2, and my status changed to "in line for interview" last evening 5/17. Mine took loonger but it depends on your Field Office Processing times. You might want to check that out online.

Sembat, pretty much exactly the same dates and status for me in Cincinnati, OH. Online processing time for my service center here seems to be 12 months - amazingly slow.

              Timeline

Here in San Bernardino, Ca office the wait time was long for one of my students.

He applied in May 2015, did biometrics in June 2015, then waited from June 2015 to March 2016 for his citizenship interview.

We inquired in October of 2015, asking "Why is this taking so long?"
They told us that we could not request a follow-up until six months, so we had to wait until November 2015 to request an investigation as to why it was so slow.
They said that there were so many applications that it was taking a long time.
He finally got notice of his interview in Late February or early March of 2016.

He passed his interview easily because he had so long to study, LOL.
He was very confident and anticipated all the questions.

He finally went in for the swearing in ceremony in late May, 2016.

Good luck....this is a long time to wait.
