Hi:

I obtained my green card after 26 years old. So, I did not need to register with
Selective Service. Now, I am applying for citizenship. Do I need to obtain
verification letter from Selective Service to send with the citizenship application?
Can I just send my application without it? I called the Selective Service and they
told me it takes a month to get the letter.

It's better to have the letter just in case the immigration officer asks about the
same.

You can go ahead and file your N-400 application. You do not have to send selective service letter at this time. But before the interview you should obtain letter from them. I obtained letter for my husband and got it in 3 weeks. You can download the form at
