Hello - We have an opportunity to get Citizenship from the US and I was wondering if only one of us take it whereas the other retain their current citizenship as country doesn't offer dual citizenship (India). Questions,
being
a) Is this possible?
b) What is your opinion on doing this?
We will be going back to India in a few years. The idea of retaining the Indian citizenship is we have a lot of property there and do not want to be jeopardized by taking a citizenship of another country. India does offer OCI for this but you never know what changes in a few years.
Again its not a US vs India thing here and we love both countries. It's just trying to make use of situation and ease bureaucratic processes. (owning plantation properties, buying and selling agricultural land etc..)
