  • More than 3 months after biometrics

    Hi All,

I applied citizenship in March 27, 2016 and did my biometrics in April 29, 2016. After biometrics its passed 3 months haven't heard anything from uscis. Is anybody here with same time line and with same experience. Even tho it shows 5 months processing time i haven't received anything for interview yet.I have a DUI record in 2012. Tampa, FL Uscis

    Thanks

    Contact USCIS

    Hi,

I am not in your situation nor I have faced your scenario in earlier days. I personally replying base on my knowledge.

Later Biometrics appointment, you should receive an appointment of notice for your Naturalization Interview (3-5 months after filing) and after that, you want to complete the Naturalization Interview it takes 4-6 months after filing the Form N-400.

The time what you mention on the forum were exceeded the usual application process, so better you can call to USCIS office@ 1-800-375-5283

    All the Best!!!

    Regards,

    Rachael Leona

I applied in early November 2015. Biometrics was done by the end of the month. Just received note (early August, 2016) that my case is in line for interview. I was told on inquiry that my application was in NBC for FBI name check. The processing times are based on the time it takes in your local office (I believe). So you would have to patient.

        R.Leona,

I called uscis number a week ago but the customer service representatives didn't give me much information. He just said its within the timeframe which is 5 months i should be getting it shortly. But i know it all depends when my FBI name check will be done only after that they will put in line for interview.

I am in Philadelphia and I believe the time frames are comparable. The bottle-neck I believe is with the name check at the NBC. For example, my wife applied with me (Nov 2015) and her entire process was complete by mid-february 2016. Her name check was done in 2 weeks while I had to wait 8+ months. So this goes on a case to case basis. Be patient.

            Hi Arindam,

Yes i totally agree. There is really nothing i can do at this point but wait. But it's kind of frustrating how this system works for name check, some get done in 2 weeks and for some it takes over a year.

              Hi Rayj,

We are in the same boat. Arindham replied to one of my threads (different than this).

My timeline is similar to yours. In my case, my wife's status changed to scheduled for interview however mine still shows 'case received'. Like Arindham mentioned perhaps my case might be stuck in name check. I think its just wait n watch and hope things move faster

btw to your earlier query about calling uscis, I think until 5 months have passed (or whatever is the current processing time) you cant really do much. Perhaps you can call them after 5 months have passed and see if you get any insights.

                Hi Sembat,

yes that's right i even called my lawyer she said its normal that depending on the work load in local office and FBI name check it might take longer than 5 months for some people. Reading the threads from google if we have a common name then it might take longer for name check and my name is very common so i think that's what the issue for me. And on top of that i have dui so....

Just wait and be patient. I received the note for the interview today. Common names take a little longer - so just do not get stressed. Good luck you all.

That is good news. Good luck with the application. I interviewed last week (9/20) and took my oath on Friday (9/23). My entire application took 10 months and 13 days. So it appears this is fairly standard time-span these days.
