  • N400 Application Taking Too Long

    Hi there,
I applied to naturalization on 9/3/2015 and still nothing! I got my fingerprints done within the same month I applied and since then I haven't heard back from them. I have done info pass and it didn't help. I filed an e-request off USCIS website and got a letter saying that the delay is not related to my case. I am just waiting.... Anyone out there had the same experience? Please share!

        Hi barhooma99,

Congrats on getting interview and Good Luck!
Can you please tell me what was your online status for all this time (many months) before you got your interview? Did it ever change to "Inline for interview..."? If yes, how much time since then that you actually got interview letter?

        Thanks

THANKS.... Online status all this time was ( case was received ) until it was changed to (inline for interview ) for a month or so and finally (interview was scheduled).. ( letter received in a 9-10 days after the online status change )

              No change since March 2016

              Hi,

My case is filed in Chicago area.
Applied for N400 in March 2016.
Got finger printed in April 2016
              Nothing happened since then.
Called several times with no success.
Had agent request case status in their system and after 2 month got a typical response, "your case is still being processed"...useless information
Got infopass and talked in person to an agent in Chicago field office on Nov 2016. He was a rude person, did not respond to any of my questions or provide any information to me. Finally he said my case is still in the jurisdiction step and it is not reached field office yet!!! .... He also said you need to wait at leas two month more.
Does it mean the case is stuck in FBI background check?
I am started to loose my patience and don't know what to do ...

if you have been in the same situation please assist....
              Thanks

Infopasses are mostly not useful information. they give very generic information. if you are waiting for a long time you can try calling customer service and say that you want to talk to immigration officer. they may call you in window of 2 hours and you can try talking to them.

                        Boston, MA office

I have called the USCIS number and they were useless. Told me they were still processing the June applications and that it may take up to a year for mine. I applied in January 14, biometrics Feb 14 and online it still says biometrics scheduled. i am nervous because I need this for a State job and everyone I know got theirs in three months including last year and after the new POTUS ! Has anyone had any update from the Boston Office and is there anyway to check your application to make sure you're not missing anything if that's the case can you call to update information? Thank you!

Almost 2 years for me...no progress

I filed my application in 08/2015.

In 04/2017, I had my interview. Passed it. No progress since this step...again.

Set up a infopass and met an officer on 08/2017. Nothing happened yet.

Just sharing my experience here. It takes forever for some.

                          I live in Chicago area.
