  • N-400 Interview Scheduled Problem

    Hello All,

I have a interview scheduled April 19th 2017 in Philly Office. Wanted to know I have not filed taxes for the year of 2012 and 2013 but have done it for 2014, 2015 and doing it for 2016 now. Was wondering since it said its better to bring 5 years of Taxes history, would that be a problem? I did work in 2012 and 2013 but have not filed it.

Also I did have a issue where I had gotten arrested for DUI back in 2014 but that has been taken care of and done my due diligence in completing all the required by the Court and case has been closed. Would this be a problem?

    Thanks in advance

    DUI and Tax Problem Question

Does the N400 ask these questions? Have you paid all of your taxes? Do you owe any taxes that are overdue? Did you file all of your taxes for the last 5 years?
    Have you had a DUI?

The immigration office probably knows the answers to these questions. You cannot lie. If they find the true information later, they may remove your citizenship, even after they gave it to you.

I would suggest that you see an immigration attorney.

As for your taxes, I would file and deal with it all BEFORE your interview.

    Good Luck!
