  • California N-400 processing times

I live in Santa Barbara,CA and applied N-400 for me and my wife on Nov 10th (90 days before 5 years were complete on gc). The fingerprints were done on Dec 7th. Since then the USCIS status still shows "Fingerprint Appointment Was Scheduled". *When I called USCIS CSR they said based on your zip code they are still processing cases from July 2016. But I don't think that is true because if I check San Jose case processing times the USCIS website shows they are processing May 2016 cases but as per data available in other forums people who applied from San Jose have already got their interview scheduled.

What are my options besides just waiting ?*

    Waiting

If you know they have received you application, then you can't do anything but patiently wait. I have had some students wait almost a year. We called at 6 months, then the first of each month thereafter. It did no good.
I surmised that he had a very common name, and the screening takes time. Also, it was during the holidays, and maybe there is less staff to do all the work.
He filed in May2015 and he didn't get his interview until April of 2016.

On the other hand, some are fast! I had a student file in December of 2016 and She got her appointment for May 1 of 2017.
I am not sure what the deal is.

    This is in California.

    Good luck!

      Testing and Interview

So i my case status was updated today May 9th 2017 to 'Testing and Interview' i am being assessed at the SF field office does anyone have any idea how long it might take to now get the interview date? My daughter will become 18 on June 20th and i was hoping to get sworn in before then so she would become a citizen instantly although that now seems unlikely do i have any options for her other than starting the n400 application.
thanks in advance for any advice anyone can offer

        N 400 Processing in CA

        Hi,

I live in Tustin,CA and applied N-400 for me March 21at 2017. The fingerprints were done on April 18th 2017. Since then the USCIS status still shows "Fingerprint Appointment Was Scheduled". Does anyone knows when should I expect the letter that I am in-line for interview? Is it close to the interview time?
FYI..One of my friend from Irvine, CA applied in Sept 2016 and they just complete the interview on April 2017.

Anyone getting interviews at Santa Ana for N400?

Just wanted to see who was getting interviews and long long the average wait was for Santa Ana since they've changed the website, it's hard to tell.

          Filed 10/2017
          Bio 11/2018
Still waiting for interview 8 months later....

Anyone else filed late last year (2017) for N400 in Santa Ana?

Have you called USCIS to have them "flag" your paperwork?
Did you file with writing and filing out the paperwork then mailing it in, or did you register by computer online? The physical paperwork and mailing it in takes more time. JMHO.
At any rate, you are allowed to have them check up on your application after 6 months.

Processing times now show up to 14.5 months and that you can only enquire if longer than that? That's what is says on the website?

I am a SF filer. Mailed in N400 on 2/28/17 and had Oath 11/9/17, 254 days. A little more than 8 months.
