  • naturalization / citizenship based on 5 year permanent residency

    Hello,

I am married to US citizen 6,5 yrs and i have green card for 5 years. I am checking for documents to submit N-400. It says that If I file after 5 yrs I just have to submit photocopies of PR card, Check and Photos. somewhere it says if I apply after 3 yrs based on marriage with US citizen then there is a long list of documents that i have to submit.
So, my question is if I am filing after 5 yrs do I still have to submit the other documents like photos, insurance, bank statements, loan, Lease, etc even if I'm still married to US citizen or I can just submit Photocopies of PR card, Check and Photos??

    Thanks.

If you are applying under the 5-year rule (and if you qualify under both rules you should use the 5-year rule), you do not need those additional things.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.

Hi, I am in the same situation as yours. My question is, Do I still need to provide information about my current spouse's previous marriages?
