Married to a member of armed forces = faster citizenship?

it said that if you are married to a person in the armed forces, you only need to be a permanent resident at the time of the interview.

In other words. If you marry him for 2 years, after 2 years apply for a greencard, and once you receive your permanent greencard, you can then apply for a citizenship?

so the whole process from marriage to citizenship would take approximately 3 years in total, am I right?

2 years marriage, receive GC after (6 months?). and right after u receive ur GC u apply for citizenship, another 6 months?

I don't see any such rule over there.

It talks about either the citizenship of the person who is in armed forces, or the widow/er of the person who was in the armed forces.

* A member of the U.S. Armed Forces;

You must be a Permanent Resident at the time of your CIS interview.


In other words, if you're married to someone who's in the armed forces, and you become a permanent resident after 2 years. Then you could apply for a citizenship right after u get ur greencard because all u need to be is a permanent resident (They did not say for how long).

Your US citizen spouse needs to be stationed abroad for at least one year
for you to qualify for this special naturalization clause.

Also, a reputed attorney told me over email that one could apply for naturalization with a conditional green card as well if qualifying under this clause.

Which means no waiting.
Let me know your views on this.

Could you also tell me how much time does it take for naturalization from the date of application?
