    hello,
This question concerns me and my citizenship status
i was born in belgium in 1978 to belgian parents. we immigrated to the states in 1993 , i believe i came in under student visa.and have not left the us since. my parents divorced in 1995 and my mother became a citizen in 1996, started the process in 1995, and is remarried to us born husband, i myself have been married to us wife since 1999 and have three children, i have a clear social sec, card and driver license graduated in 1996 from high school, have paid taxes since i started working around 1997 and have no criminal record. i want to clarify my status to make sure i am acitizen so i can acquire a passport, i have no foreign documentation other than my birth certificate (belgian) .i have my american identification, drver license, ssn etc...
i guess my question is: do i qualify as a citizen under my mother, since she is a citizen? if not what do i do?

Was it before you turned 18? If so, you would have become a US citizen automatically through your mother.

i myself have been married to us wife since 1999
If you aren't a US citizen, I believe you can apply for a green card based on your marriage to a US citizen.

    Hope this helps,
