  • Any N-400 Interview Experiences???

    Hello,

I recently applied for my N-400 Citizenship in Detroit, MI. I have had a green card for 3 years (my spouse is a US citizen by birth) and we have been married for 14 years. I initially came to the US on a visitor visa and overstayed my visa so I was here illegally. My wife and I got married (I did not have any immigration status) and she started the process of I-130 petition. In 2007 after still not getting approved for my I-130, I took voluntary departure and my wife and I went back to my country. We lived there for 7 years and in this time my wife re-applied for my I-130 and it was approved and we also completed a waiver so that I wasn't banned for 10 years from the US and that was also approved.
I came back into the US in February of 2014 and been a permanent resident ever since. Now I had my fingerprint appointment and I am waiting to get my interview appointment but I am worried that the officer will bring up all the old things from the past like being here illegally, my voluntary departure, etc. I DID check "yes" on my application for the question about if I was ever in removal proceedings because I was.
My question is: Do they ask a lot about your immigration history and do they bring up things from your past a lot during the interview?? Also, does anyone have the interview experience from Detroit, MI?? I'm very nervous; thank you!
