  • Do I need to have final "greencard" to file for citizenship

I received a letter yesterday for BCIS indicating that they have removed condition on my greencard based on marriage. I am supposed to get infopass appointment and submit new photographs and then wait for actual "greencard". But as you know ucis made several delays in processing and I should be eligible to apply for citizenship in couple months. Can I file N-400 based on passport stamp and this approval letter?

I heard that your 2 years of having a conditional green card counts towards naturalization. It takes 1 year to process N -400 after you've filed it.

So if you remove your conditional status, I think you can file for naturalization at the same time.Because by the time they process your applications it's been 3 years so you're eligible for naturalization.
