Hi everyone
I have never posted here before but this forum has been so helpful to me throughout my entire journey with USCIS. Here is my timeline for N400 for Holtsville Long Island Field office.
October 23 2017: N400 Application received by USCIS
November 13 2017: Biometrics completed
November 16 2017: Online status updated to "In line for Interview"
March 20 2018: Online status updated to "Interview Scheduled"
April 25 2018: Interview at Holtsville Long Island NY
At interview the agent was very friendly. First she verified my name, asked for passports and green card. then she took my photo and fingerprint. She then went straight to the questions. She only asked 5 questions out of the 100 studied. then ask me to read a sentence, then to write a sentence and then she went through the entire N400 application. She asked all the questions on the form. So my advice is to know all those answers to the questions....such as have you been a habitual drunk etc......then she got to the part "DO YOU OWE ANY OVER DUE FEDERAL INCOME TAXES" ....I answered "YES"
Hopefully this part of my interview helps someone in this forum.... so my husband and i owe federal taxes and have a payment plan.....she asked to see documents referring to the Payment plan which i gave to her.....then proof that payments are current.....I gave her the most recent monthly invoice that i received from the IRS showing last payment date and next payment due date...I also gave her a copy of all the check images from monthly payments made. Then she asked for the most recent year 2017 IRS form 1040.....i gave her the extension notice that our accountant submitted on our behalf.........
LONG STORY SHORT.....she then said "Congratulations you have passed!"
My advice if you have a payment plan with Federal or state... bring the payment plan letter, all check images or bank documents if you are paying electronically and the RECENT BILL FROM THE IRS showing that you are current as proof of current status of your repayment program...
Waiting anxiously now for the OATH ceremony date.... will post again once i receive that notice.
