So it states I can apply for citizenship after having a Greencard for 3 years if I have been married.

My status is that I got married 29th July 2016, however I got my greencard via work on the 03/24/2014.

Can I apply for citizenship or do I need to wait until March 2019?

To qualify for naturalization under the 5-year rule, you must have had 5 years of continuous residence as a permanent resident (you can file 90 days before meeting the continuous residence requirement). So you can apply for naturalization under the 5-year rule starting Dec 24, 2018 (90 days before you have been a permanent resident for 5 years).

To qualify for naturalization under the 3-year rule, you must have had 3 years of continuous residence as a permanent resident, and you must have been married to the same US citizen for the last 3 years, and that US citizen must have been a US citizen for at least 3 years (you can file 90 days before meeting the continuous residence requirement, but you must meet the other requirements at the time of filing). So you can apply for naturalization under the 3-year rule starting July 29, 2019 (3 years after you married), assuming your spouse was a US citizen when you married.

So you would qualify under the 5-year rule sooner.
