  • Past experiences with Rescheduling Oath Ceremony

    Hello All,
I'm incredibly fortunate to have received a notice to attend an oath ceremony in Chicago in January 2019. I've been waiting for it many years so I don't take it lightly. However I'm currently scheduled to travel abroad to see my family on that date

Has anyone had recent positive/negative experiences with rescheduling their oath ceremony. I wanted to make an informed decision based on experiences from others. If you feel prefer, feel free to direct message me instead. What makes me nervous is that they have shut down infopass appointments to USCIS Chicago Field office which means I'll not be able to follow up on any rescheduling directly.

Really appreciate to hear your experiences on this! Thanks in advance!!

Many (9) months but that's because a decision was not made during my test. They wanted to wait for my Green Card restrictions to be removed first.

Yikes! With such a stupendous occasion, the only way I'd schedule a 'vacation' is if it was life and death situation... especially with all the freaking delays and unpredictability in today's Political climate; especially with Government shut downs! Best advice you will ever get: DON'T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT YOUR CERTIFICATE! (ala US passport shortly after) if I were you!
