  • Citizenship Application: should I send both applications in 1 package

Hi: I and my wife are applying for Citizenship at the same time. Should I send both application forms in one package or do they have to go in seperate packets?

    Thanks
    Ray

You can send them in one packet but make sure each application has seprate checks for N-400.

        1 package - multiple applications

I mailed 3 applications in 1 package. Made sure that all three applications are distinct. There were absolutely no problems. And all the three of us got all the other stuff together as well, like the finger printing dates, final inteview, etc

          JayanthN - your response

Jayanth - you mentioned that you had mailed applications for yourself, your wife and kids all in the same envelope but made sure that the applications are distinct.
Can you explain this a bit more? I am planning to send one envelope for myself and my wife - but not sure what I need to do to make them distinct?
Did you have sub-envelopes within the main envelope - where each sub-envelope had 1 person's application?
How did you make them distinct?

          Thanks a lot

Yes you can with one check. I did it for myself and husband and had no issues.

You can send all the applications into one packet. Make sure that the amount of check covers for all the applications. If you send one check for all the applications, and there is any problem in any of the applications, the processing of all the applications will be delayed. It's a good idea to send separate checks for each application.

I wrote 2 checks and put our application in 2 separate envelpes (one for my wife and one for me) and then put both the envelope in a bigger envelope and mailed it. We got all the notifications on the same day and the application number is also in sequence.
