  • Duration of stay with employer post-GC (implication on Citizenship)

    Hi,
I received my Green Card through my employer in 2000 (consular processing). Due to unfortunate circumstances, soon after I recd the GC, my relationship w/ my supervisor got increasingly worse - I tried looking for employment within the company but was unsuccessful finding something that would be even a half-decent fit.

Frustrated, I left the job - less than 3 months had elapsed since my GC approval.

I recently applied for my citizenship and have my interview scheduled in a few days. I have the following questions:

    1. Since I do not have any documentation to support my reasoning for leaving my employer, what is the best course of action?

    2. I have read at some places (online) that INS may determine that this was fraud on my part because I accepted my permanent residency while planning to never work for this employer - this is not true but I have no way to prove this. Rather than risk my current immigration status (i.e. my GC), I am contemplating withdrawing my citizenship application altogether - and let just my spouse proceed with her application. What are the implications of withdrawing my app?

Would highly appreciate help from the experts here.

    Sincerely.
