Hi,
I have the following question:
1. I am a family of 3 and we all are Indian citizens and have gotten our GCs in 6/04 and 7/04.
2. Got re-entry permit valid for for 2 yrs in 7/06 (from 7/06 to 7/08)
3. Left US and came to India in 8/06 with the intention of going back to US in 7/08 or just before re-entry permit expiry.
4. in 11/06 I am planning to go alone to US for work.
5. Now, my question is:
If I I stay for only 6 more continous months in the US can I file for Citizenship in 7/09 (since that counts for 30 months stay and 5 yrs since GC approved). I will apply for another re-entry permit for me and my family in 8/08 and they will approve me for 1 yr then ( I am told). So, all our re-enrtry permits will be valid till 8/09 and citizenship will be filed on 7/09. We plan to be staying (all 3 of us) in the same county in USA from 1/09 onwards.

If I thus. maintain mine and my dependents GC status by applying for repeated re-entry permits, then after getting my citizenship if I apply for theirs, will they get naturalized immediately or do they also have to keep 5 years of stay in US after GC date.

Please let me know.

Thanks for your reply. But, if I become a citizen, then will my dependant minor kids and wife get naturalized automatically on the same date?

Your minor kids will get automatically naturalized.

Your wife needs to apply separately just like you.
