Citizenship questions

I am eligible for US citizenship and I have a few questions around the same -

* Can I apply for my in-laws when I become a US Citizen? Will it take the same time as applying for my parents? (my wife will remain an Indian citizen with a green card)
* What category would they go into?

If down the road, I apply for OCI -

* Can I invest in property in India (agricultural land)?
* If I get arrested (god forbid), which country law will prevail?

Appreciate some answers to the questions above?

hi there,
why your wife didn't take the citizenship? just want to know that we are having the same thoughts or you have some other reasons. we done the same thing. my wife is still on GC and i am us citizen.
but now we are planning to go back. so came a confussion . should we apply for citizenship for my wife (fact its hard to maintain GC if you are staying in india)? do you have some opinion? i appriciate your reply.

As an OCI, you can't own agricultural land. The instructions are very clear on this. If you get arrested in India, the local laws will prevail. If you get arrested in the US, the US laws will prevail.
