    I have completed 30 months here in US with continous stay after I got my GC. Now I want to take up a job in India which entails travel to US every other month for a couple of weeks.
    Does that help me maintain my continous residency and will I be able to apply for citizenship from India itself? Like applying i the US consulate or something like that. I dont see much information about that.
    My wife is also on a GC issued at the same time I did. And I can ask her to accompany me on my trips to the US.
    What is your opinion about citizenship problems that I might crop from this situation.

    You should read https://www.immihelp.com/us-naturalization-eligibility/
    it explains everything about eligibility.

    About applying overseas in an embassy ; yes you can but you will have to be in US for final stages; oath etc.

      Thank you peace. You for helping me on this issue also. I have read and re-read that page you mentioned. that page has nothing that will clariy my question. Would be really nice if you can interpret my case and see if it applies.

        From what I understand, there are two parts to reesidence requirement;
        physical presence which means the total no. of days you are required to be present in the US subtracting the days spent out of US. In your case the requirement is 30 months which you meet already.

        The other is continuous residence;which means on any single trip you should not be out of US for more than 6 m., which you will meet too if you are employed in India with frequent trips to US.

        I think you should be fine, still, since I am not an attorney and citizenship is a very important issue, I suggest you confirm this with a good attorney before proceeding with the plan.

          JAMS - Apart from Continuous Residence and Phsyical Presence, you need to be present in a district or State for 3 months before you apply for Citizenship. I don't think you are qualified to apply from outside of the US since you are not serving in the US Armed Forces and not employed by US Govt.
