International lawsuit (divorce) and US citizenship application

Is it possible to file for US citizenship when a divorce proceeding is in progress in another country outside of US and the time for closure of that case is unknown?

If applying is not an issue, would it still be an issue when the citizenship application is approved and candidate is called for interview, but the international divorce case is still pending?

Should a candidate be free of lawsuits to be grated US citizenship?
