  • Document Checklist Question.....

I want to send my application tomorrow, pending this question being answered. Please help.

I went ahead and answered NO to the question that states if i have been ever arrested, detained, or cited. You know, the question we all find confusing if we ever had any traffic violations. Anyway, i just followed the N400 Instructions to say No to this good moral question, because of the $500 dollar exception they impose. Towards the end of the Document Checklist there is this question....

If you have ever been arrested or detained by any law enforcement officer for any reason, and no charges were filed, send:

An original official statement by the arresting agency or applicant court confirming that no charges were filed.

Do i have to sumit some other kind of document i am not currently aware of, since i did answer No to the origial question earlier on my application...? This is putting me sending my applicaton in on hold, Please advise or let me know what this means.

    So...... what have you done?
Have you ever been given a ticket of > $500?
Have you ever been arrested, etc?
Have you ever had a drug/alcohol related traffic citation?

If your answer is no, then answer no. If you have had a few tickets, all < $500, then answer no. If anything else, then answer YES and show documentation. Also, per this poster "djmenezes", he seems to know a lot more about this and supposedly, there are changes in the new N400's vs. the old ones from 2006. So check that.
