Lost Citizenship Application in Mail

Hello All,

I mailed mine and my wife's application (at the same time in different envelopes) via Certified mail with return receipt. My wife's application reached the service center and i also received the return receipt - even the check has been encashed. But my application is lost in the mail . I cannot in track in on the usps.com website.

What should I do?
Post office asked me to wait. They have to no time line for this. (2-3 weeks probably before they start investigation).

Should I mail another application? What if USCIS receive both the applications? What will happen then?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

none of my business....

...but why wud u not send both apps in same package? Anyhow..sue the post office...find out where ur package is. Hopefully they find it soon. USPS is pretty damn reliable...your case surprises me. It's the off season...no postal rush hour ....good luck !

I was advised by various sources (like such forums and friends) not to send the applications in the same package. I am glad I did that, at least that way my wife's application has reached the service center safely...else both would have been lost (considering the worst case scenario).

Anyways....my questions was is it worth it to wait for the investigation to commence and complete and then send in another application or should I just send a new application right away?

What if the USCIS receives 2 applications with the same name?

Application is now trackable and has reached destination

Finally my application has reached the destination post office. It is now track able. Thank you all who did reply.
