Case Status Retrieval Failed.

Hi Folks,
Today when I entered my case number and pressed Search, then I got the following message.

* Case Status Retrieval Failed
* The status for this Receipt Number is incomplete at this time in this automated system and can not be displayed. Please check your case receipt number to see if it is correct. If you have questions or concerns about your case status, please contact the National Customer Service Center.

I heard that this means someone is looking into it. Is that true? Here are my application dates.

02/28/2007 : Mailed to CSC
03/7/2007 : Notice/receive Date
05/09/2007 : FP Done.
??/??/???? : Interview Appointment
??/??/???? : Oath

Dont worry about that. Same thing was happened to me too. I just followed paperwork in mail.

Maybe you are approved.
I think that means that the officer has locked your case, and that means that they approved your residency.

Yup, I go the interview letter on 09/20 and the interview is scheduled on 11/06/07. thnx

What happens if my case never appeared online? I have been entering my case number since when I got he NOA but it has always said it could not be found....

Where and how do I find out my case status?

My FP was done: Aug/01/07

This is because they are behind in updating cases

On Oct 19th, the INS webpage posed an article saying they are very much behind schedule in updating the online case status. So even though your case may be moving forward it can take them over 2 weeks to update this information online. Again this is due to the increase on applications before the July 30th increase too effect. They really got slammed and can't keep up. So much for the "new fees will increaes turn around time". We applied July 27th, 2007. They cashed the check in Aug no receipt or update of case online. In fact non of the case numbers on the cleared check are even in the system.

Got receipt for N-400 application sent in July 27th

Good News,

I finally got the receipt for the N-400 application for both my husband and me. We sent it in and they recieved it in the mailroom on July 27th, the check was cleared in August. The receipt said they got the application on the 13th of August, 2007 and we received the receipt on the 26th of October, 2007 and it was updated unline to this date on Oct 26th.
When I just had the cleared check and tried to see the case status online based on the ESC number none came up. They take some time to update it. Basically the day you get the actual receipt in the mail the case should also be added online. Hope that give you hope.
