  • Questions on rescheduling oath ceremony

    Hi All,
I need to reschedule my oath ceremony in San Francisco. I have the following questions.
    1) Do I just send back the oath ceremony letter that I received?
    2) If so how do I know which is the location to send it back to?
    3) Are there any risks associated with rescheduling the oath ceremony?

    Thanks

Yes, you need to send the invitation and a letter explaining why you need to reschedule the oath ceremony. There are cases where the oath letter gets lost resulting in long delays, or rescheduling may take a long time. They will not deny you your oath ceremony once you have passed your requirements provided nothing changes until the oath date (travel time, court proceedings etc), but it is best to take it as soon as possible. Bear in mind, until you take the oath, you are not a US citizen, and you run the risk of getting into a situation where you may lose your eligibility. So, my advice, take the oath as soon as you can!
