California- time between applying and oath

Hello there,
I will be sending my N-400 next November. I need to know approximately how long does it take until you get a passport.
And also can I travel in the gaps between FP, interview date and oath?

Depending on individual case, every step takes time. In general, it takes approx. 6-7 months to become US citizen. Through expedite process you may get US passport within 2-3 weeks, even shorter. Yes, you can travel after FP and interview based on your GC but it is not advisable to travel after interview unless emergency as time gap between interview and oath is short.
