Hello,

Can anyone helpme understand what is the process of changing my lastname.I am applying for UScitizenship and I would like to change my last name to my husband's last name, what is the process is it enough if I change in my N-400 form or do I have to personally change in every document? If so what are those documents? and what is the timeline for processing citizenship? Can I leave the country and go to India for
vacation for 3 months after applying for citizenship?

1. You can write your new name in N-400.
2. Of course, after your name is changed, you will have to get it changed
everywhere else yourself: Social security card, driver's license, bank
accounts, employer and everywhere else.
3. Processing time is around 1.5 years now.
4. Yes, you can go to India for 3 months.
