To Whom It May Concern;

I am a US passport holder and am wondering if I can downgrade to a green card.


Te reason for this request is Kenya does not approve of dual citizens yet and having a green card would enable me to still reside in the US while being in compliance with Kenyan law.

1. No, you can't do that. If you want to let go US citizenship, you will have to start the greencard all over again.

2. That is not a problem that Kenya does not allow dual citizenship. You just can be US citizen. You don't have to be Kenyan citizen, do you? If you want to visit Kenya, just take tourist visa, just like any other America would do.

That is what people originally from India do, as India does not allow dual citizenship either. After becoming US citizen, they just take India visa to visit India.
