  • San Francisco Interview Details

    Hey Guys,

I had my interview today and it went very well. I passed the English and the history test.

The officer gave me "Congratulation letter" letting me know that they will review my file and should be getting my Oath letter in 30 days. He also acknowledged that I passed my test 100%.

Is reviewing the file a standard protocol?

    Has it already ...

... been 30 days? Wait for 30 business days and then start wondering.

In the meantime, spend money in US so the American economy gets some boost.

Reviewing the file seems to be standard protocol especially if the Officer is not a senior officer. I have seen others in similar situation.

Attending Citizenship Interview with a Attorney

Is it better to process all the citizenship paper work through an attorney and he or she will be present at the interview.

I had filed my citizenship application based on marriage to a US Citizen. During the time of the application, i had sent copies of taxes, marriage certificate, house documents, and bank statements.

During face to face interview, the officer was reviewing N400 form and was asking questions about the job, where we live , kids and place where wife works. Also, I had received a letter to bring in kids birth certificates during face to face interview. I also gave them a copy of my wife's birth certificate.

My suggestion, take the originals of the documents you have sent. You just never know what they would want to verify.

Overall, it was very straight forward and easy process. History/Civic questions were also easy.

Thanks awesomecal. How long did the naturalization process take you since the time you applied (ie. filed N400)? I also live in SF and trying to get an idea about the processing time at the local district office.
