  • Didn't Get Form N-652

I just completed my naturalization interview today at the Miami Field Office. The Immigration Officer congratulated me and told me my application was approved , made me sign a form with some personal information and put a red “APPROVED” stamp somewhere on my file (couldn’t see which page she stamped but clearly saw an approved stamp). After that she told me to wait one to two weeks for my Oath Notice via mail. Didn’t get a form N-652 at all

My wife was also interviewed but by another officer, that didn’t give her a form N-652 either and did exactly the same thing the person who interviewed me did, the red approved stamp, etc, BUT told her to wait outside to get her N-445 Oath Notice, which she got after about 15 minutes, for April 29. We asked the person giving away the notices why I didn’t get the Oath Notice right away as my wife did, and he told us “it was fine and I’ll get mine in the mail”

The interview was today and there is still plenty of time for me to get my oath notice, and our cases moved pretty fast (we sent the N-400s in January 2009) so everything should be fine, but I’m puzzled that any of us got the form N-652 after the interview. I’ve been searching around the web and it seems everybody gets that form after the interview, passing it or not

In the case of my wife is fine as even if she didn’t get her N-652 she got her N-445 as is all set, but should I be worried about me not getting an N-652? Have any of you here had a similar experience?

Thanks in advance for your comments

It happens to my wife also. She didn’t get N-652 and got approved stamp on the paper and waiting for Oath ceremony paper in mail. She haven’t get it so far. I got it earlier after three days of completing the test. My date is April 28th. I am also want to know why she didn’t get in the mail.

Just to keep you all updated on this case, 2 weeks passed after my interview and still waiting for my Oath letter. So good for the 1 to 2 weeks notice

My wife took her oath on Wednesday as planned, but I'm still in the dark. The case status online says there is no information on my case, and calling the customer service number yielded no results either. I'll keep waiting. Hope is not like Kumarlen's case

Now, my wife went to Interview on May 4th and they asked sign the application in all the place and changed the last name! eventhough it was the same now. They got confused with her birth certificate and current name. They have issued Oath letter after 30 minutes. At last it ends fine. She has to go Oath cermony in next week. Good Luck to CharlyBrown.

              Got Notice of Oath Ceremony

I went for an Infopass appointment last Monday May 18, which I had requested to see the status of my case after more than a month from my interview with no news. The appointment itself seemed not very helpful, and the officer just told me my oath letter had not been mailed and that I was still under the 120 days period for them to make a final decision on my case. She told me the supervisor has her/his reasons for not mailing the oath letter yet, and in less than 10 minutes I was done.

Then yesterday the oath notice was in my mailbox, mailed on May 18 from the Miami USCIS location I went for my Infopass. It seems that even if the appointment was not very promising at the beginning, it did trigger something and my case moved forward on that same date. I would never know what was holding it up, but the lesson is that Infopass appointments appear to help

My Oath date is Friday May 29. For Plantation questions, here is how my case moved:

              Applied to Service Center: Texas
              Field Office: Miami

              Jan 2, 2009: sent form N-400
Jan 9: Got application receipt confirmation
Jan 16: Got letter for fingerprints on February 2nd
              Feb 2nd: Fingerprinted
Feb 17: Got letter for interview on April 15
April 15: Interviewed. Recommended for citizenship but didn’t receive form N-652
May 18: went to Infopass appointment for information on my case
May 20: received form N-445 Notice of Naturalization Oath Ceremony, scheduled for May 29

Giving you zip code, you should apply on the Texas Service Center and the USCIS will move your case through the Miami Field Office. They have a new building with ample parking area and overall a very nice setting, a far cry for the one the former INS used to have on Biscayne blvd. which was not only falling apart but in the middle of a very bad neighborhood. When I went there for my residence interview five years ago, my car was vandalized!

              Good luck to all!
