  • N-400 question

    Hi
My wife was outside the US from Oct 26 2005 to Apr 18 2006 - which is 174 days. If you count the months it is 7 months

In the N-400, "Did trip last for 6 months or more" - Should I say YES/NO ? The number of days is < 180, so should I put NO ?

      HI

when your wife returned did they asked for the re entry permit?
in normal cases a person who got the PR resided 6 months outside the US required to select "YES"

in that case they have to apply for the reentry permit

yes, she had obtained a reentry permit for that trip and used the reentry permit while entering the US. But the stay is still less than 180 days, does using the reentry permit automatically break the continuous residency ?
