    FP Done

FP Done today for self and wife. Was a breeze. One curiosity we got only one civics lesson packet between the 2 of us ( we were told this was because we applied/came for the fp together). Meanwhile we have not received our "supposed" RFEs that were generated on 8/11/09. Will check the status in a week to see if the message changes if not will call back on 11th Sept (30 days) to complain.

Is it normal to have to wait for decision?

I thought they usually tell you in the interview that you passed and congratulations...I guess they have to do final review of your other paperwork...who knows...they didn't give you an indication of timeline, did they?

How do you explain that some interviews allow you to do the oath right after the test?

My interview is in San Antonio in a month, can't wait! I am literally exactly one month behind you in the timeline, almost day to day in sending, biometrics, notice, etc...glad it's moving fast!
    Good luck astinpal.
For most cases, you dont wait for a decision.

I hope yours is made the same day! San antonio dont have same day oath. They have them every 3 weeks or so.

    Good luck everybody!

    [QUOTE=sapvij;174408]Poisontee,

Thanks Sapvij. Good luck on your interview

Let me Congratulate you first !

Mine is 9/9 at SanJose CA

    Couple of questions:

    - Is 45 minutes is normal ? Yes and No. Depends on the officer. On the interview letter it says it can take upto 2 hours.
    - Have you answered all 6 questions correct out of 10 ? I answered the first 6 and she stopped asking the other 4.
    - If you answer all first 6 questions correct, is no more further questions ? True
    - What was the writing test ? what exactly asked and you wrote ? A simple sentence like Lincoln was president during civil war
    - Any specific questions, related to work, nationality, GC...etc? Yes.
    - Our appointments are in just 20 minutes gap, first mine then my wife. You will be interview by different officers

    - What are the documents you carried, has officer asked any or seen any ?
(In our letter no documents has asked). She wanted to see my tax returns of which i didn't carry coz were not required

    - Is this new procedure waiting for decision thro mail ? It depends on the officer

Please share your interview experience any additional questions from officer (please don't mention specifics). She went through the whole app asking questions.

    Thanks for your help

    I hope the answers helped!

    Helpwithh1-
Not two interviews. The first 45 are minutes btn when I arrived( In the waiting room) and when I was actually called in.

I am waiting for a decision in the mail.

    Best regards!

If your case is a normal one( employment based, family based GC) without too many arrests/citations, complex issues you can follow these forums and apply yourselves. For example, I applied based on a 5 year employment based GC and it was straightforward.

The best thing would be to spend couple of days or a weekend gathering all the information and assess whether you will be able to fill the application.

    Good luck getting started.
