Here is a link with all the instructions on how to fill the form N-400.
/show-form/n-400
Good luck to you and your wife as she apply in September.I hope you all unite very soon!.
As far as my experience, I applied based on being a Permanent resident for for years. All the i needed to include with my application was pretty simple.
This link will help you with the process!
On my application, I enclosed,
-A cover letter
-The application. Form N-400
-Two passport photos( My full name and A number written at the back lightly with a pencil.
-A cheque of $675 for the fees.
Thats all i needed to include. Again, it depends on someone. So i would suggest you read the instructions carefully to determine if you need to send anything more based on your personal case!!
Good luck everybody!!

Now am waiting for my interview letter which i believe should be coming in the mail very soon.

U Can check on the websiteOriginally posted by sapvij View PostIs there any USCIS website to check which month/year applications they are processing now ...and will we get receipt number after filing N400...if so can we track against that receipt number ?....Tnx

This will give you approximately how long cases are taking at different field offices. I believe on average is 5 months.
Once you file your N-400, you will get a receipt number. You can in put that on their website but normally the dates are never updated after the first Notice is sent.
I hope that helps!!
Best wishes!!
