  • need info abt citizenship

    Hai,

thanks for the reply for my previous queries.

Can i I travel to India immediately after getting the certificate of citizenship or should i wait for some months before I travel out of country?

How long will it take to get US passport once applied after getting the citizenship?

    Thanks,
    dg

You can travel as soon as you get your US passport and Indian visa. (PIO takes more time, OCI takes even more.)

If you apply for urgent passport, you may get it in less than 10 days.

      need help pls

      Hai,

Is it a must that we get an Indian visa to travel after getting the citizenship.......What I mean to ask is should we get an Indian visa only if we apply for a US passport or even after getting the certificate of citizenship?

If so how long will it usually take to get an Indian Visa?

I need to travel to India as soon as possible after getting the citizenship........so is there any other temporary visa that i can get quicker ?

      thanks,
      dg

You need to get US Passport before you can travel by air. The Naturalization Certificate is not a travel document (few exceptions are some land borders and 'close-loop' cruises). Details available in Dept. of State website.

Since you are a citizen of US, you need a visa to travel to India.
