  • San Jose Processing time line

Any one who has applied with San Jose as thier field office. can they post thier time line

I got a yellow letter on Oct5th and till date no info on interview data.

I took an infopass appointment and met the immigration officer...They said that its a routine to send yellow letter and it does not mean anything...

I need to wait for 5 ~8 weeks more...

Strange when all are getting interview letter and some even had oath after officer said this is well with in the processing time and nothing to worry. (submitted application Aug 5th)

Any one in San Jose who has similar experience

    Jaykrishna

    N400 -application submitted 08/05
    FP done --09/10
    Yellow letter --10/05

            Jaykrishna,
We all just don't know how to make you comfort with your situation. But honestly, I think something is wrong & thats why INS is withholding in sending your interview letter (this is just my opinion...I could be totally wrong). Since you have applied in Aug, I'm sure you have completed 5yrs as GC holder by now. So, you should have received your interview letter. Its surprising that in infopass also, they wont give you the exact information.

If you are completing 5yrs by Jan, I guess your interview date would be on the day of completion of 5yrs or Jan 2nd week. But you will receive your interview letter pretty soon. All the best.

There is no reason for the interview to be held only after completion of 5 years, I think only the Oath will be scheduled after finishing the 5 year stay.
I had my interview 5 days before completing my 5 year as GC holder.

i agree.. the interview appt depends on the applicants and the load of work of the office...some people rec the letter within 2 weeks..some more than month..

Yes mine is like 2.5 weeks before the completion of 5 years. I heard that they just tell you to wait for the decision in mail if you are less then 5 years

                          Not necessarily
I was told that my case was approved right after the interview. I am pretty sure there is a way to ensure that the Oath does not happen before the 5years

In my case, When I went for interview, IO asked me if I had completed 5yrs. I said "Yes mam, today". She looked at the dates & said smilingly "Oh yeah, right Ontime. otherwise I would have to re-schedule your interview".
So, I guess it just depends on the field office & Immigration officer conducting your interview.
