Traveling to UK after oath on Indian passport

Hello - I'm on a Indian passport working in UK on a UK work permit. In the next couple of months, I will be going thru the US naturalization process and get my citizenship. I can wait for a few days to pick up the US passport but I am being told that I cannot come back to UK because my earlier work permit was tied to my Indian passport and since I have now got my US passport, I have to go thru the work permit process all over again - which could take several weeks.
1. Is there any way out of this ?
2. Can I pick up my US passport, leave US on the US passport, but enter UK using Indian passport within a couple of days ?

Once you have taken the Oath, your Indian passport is voided, you cannot use it for travel in and out of the country. You ARE a US citizen and must travel on your US passport from the time you finish your oath.
