I filed the N400 application and I went through the whole process, took and passed the test. Before giving me the test, the officer told me that I'm already a citizen because I qualified to get it through my father when I turned 18 (I'm now 25). He asked me for a several years of tax returns from my dad showing that he supported me between 15-18 years old, he asked me for school records showing that I attended school in USA, my father's citizenship certificate and my parents' marriage certificate and rescheduled another interview a month later for me to bring in all these documents. I had no issue finding the documents, so I brought everything he asked me to bring in.
He took all my documents and told me that he would go over them and and make a decision and send me a letter to get passport within 3-5 days. He said if I wanted certificate of citizenship, I would have to file form n600 which would cost $460. That is after I spent $675 on the N400. But he said that he would send me a letter that I can use to get a US passport within 3-5 days. It's been 2 weeks and I still haven't received any letter. I checked the status online and on the phone and it says I'm waiting for an interview when I've already had my interviews. He said if I wanted certificate of citizenship, I would have to file form n600 which would cost $460. That is after I spent $675 on the N400. I'm really frustrated and hope someone can help me decide what to do next.
